wonder

I just put Jonie to bed for the night and am sitting peacefully next to Anne who is reading. This has been an incredible week. We're starting our "normal life" schedule and settling in to being parents and also people who are committed to our respective work lives. Jonie is really happy wither her two-day-a-week nanny time. When I dropped her off this morning she saw the nanny (her name is Seng) and gave her a big grin. What a wonderful feeling to leave her with someone with whom she feels so comfortable.
Our evenings are full of grins, too. Jonie sees us in the evening and is so happy. It just melts my heart. The thing I most wanted to say tonight is the Jonah is a wonder. What an amazing privilege it is to watch someone turn from a tiny baby into a little person. She is full of smiles and is learning so much every day. A wonder. We feel unendingly blessed. By her. By each other. By all of this.
The sleeping bug and her baby.

AH, out at the end of the day with not a care in the world and knowing mom & dad are right there. Who could ask for more?
